The Journal of Korean Ophthalmological Society (J Korean Ophthalmol Soc), with the first issue being released in 1958, is published by the Korean Ophthalmological Society (KOS) whose members are composed of Korean board certified ophthalmologists, ophthalmology residents, and physicians practicing ophthalmology related medical care. This monthly journal aims at promoting the advances in ophthalmology, mutual friendship among the members of the society, and the members commitment to continued research and development. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc is the official journal of KOS and publishes articles relating to ocular diseases and basic research in ophthalmology with manuscript describing laboratory sciences, clinical sciences and case reports. The submitted papers are peer-reviewed and evaluated before publication by experienced specialists in each subspecialty.
Being issued in 1990, the ISSN of the Journal of Korean Ophthalmological Society (0378-6417) has been registered in Ophthalmic Literatures since 1991. It has applied the online submission/review system since 2006. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc is the first Korean medical publication that has registered DOI (Digital Objective Identifier) and has been registered in Korean Citation Index (KCI) constructed by Korea Research Foundation since 2007. The journal is distributed to the members of KOS, medical schools, libraries, and many other institutions at home and abroad to promote the development of Korean ophthalmology and academic exchanges among KOS members as well as International colleagues. The ultimate goal of this journal is to make contributions to the well-being of Korean people and the human race in general by improving the science and technology in ophthalmology. |
