목적 : To describe ten cases of novel maculopathy related to the use of 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor (5ARI). 방법 : The electronic medical records were searched for male patients who demonstrated pseudocystic foveal cavitation on spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging. Excluding cases with apparent ophthalmic causes, we analyzed the clinical data and multimodal imaging findings of the patients. 결과 : Ten male patients had taken a 5ARI, a male sex hormone inhibitor agent for benign prostate hyperplasia or alopecia. Among these patients, OCT showed the disease spectrum as ranging from tiny pseudocystic cavitation to an impending macular hole in 15 eyes. 결론 : 5ARI maculopathy is characterized by pseudocystic foveal cavitation in male patients, which may progress to outer foveal defect and macular hole. Most male patients had no symptoms, but symptoms may develop as their condition progresses. 5ARI maculopathy should be included in the differential diagnosis of pseudocystic foveal cavitation in male. |
