| 중등도 이상의 안검염 치료에 있어 BlephEx (lid debris debridement)가 임상양상 및 Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) 의 발현에 미치는 효과 분석 |

목적 : To evaluate the effects of lid debris debridement using the BlephEx instrument on clinical outcomes and expression of Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in moderate and severe meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) patients 방법 : This retrospective study was conducted on moderate and severe MGD patients (30 eyes of 15 subjects) who underwent one session of BlephEx treatment. We evaluated tear film break-up time (TBUT), corneal and conjunctival fluorescein staining scores, biomicroscopic examination of lid margins and meibomian glands, Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) questionnaire and the expression of MMP-9 using the InflammaDry before initiating the treatment and at 4 weeks after the treatment. 결과 : There were significant improvements in TBUT (p < 0.001), SICCA Ocular staining score (p < 0.001), Oxford staining score (p = 0.003), lid margin telangiectasia (p < 0.001), lid margin plugging (p < 0.001), meibum color (p < 0.001), meibum consistency (p < 0.001), meibum gade (p < 0.001), and OSDI (p < 0.001). No significant difference was noted with regard to lid margin abnormality score and lid margin thickness. The rate of positive result for MMP-9 was 84.2% before initiating treatment and 52.6% at 4 weeks after the treatment showing statistically significant improvement. 결론 : We suggest that lid debris debridement using the BlephEx instrument is effective in treating patients with moderate and severe MGD with regard to clinical outcomes and MMP-9 expression. |
