목적 : Accurate information of extraocular muscle (EOM) tension is important for diagnosis and surgical planning of strabismus. The purpose of this study is to estimate the passive tension force of EOMs in normal subjects. 방법 : A system to measure continuous-registration passive length-tension curves of extraocular muscles was designed. Passive tension forced was recorded from the lateral and medial, inferior and superior rectus muscles in eleven subjects (5 to 53 years old) under general anesthesia. 결과 : Normal ranges for the tension of extraocular muscle were 49.8 ± 14.2 for the medial rectus, 48.8 ± 15.5 for the lateral rectus, 46.2 ± 13.4 for the inferior rectus, 50.6 ± 17.6 for the superior rectus. The mean passive tension of the extraocular muscles in male was not significantly larger than in female (p > 0.05).
