목적 : To classify mild nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) according to the location of microaneurysms on ultra-widefield fluorescein angiography (UWFA) and to evaluate the associated systemic factors.
방법 : A total of 105 patients with mild NPDR underwent examination by UWFA, and 152 eyes were classified into the anterior, posterior and mixed types according to the location of microaneurysms. The systemic factors including duration of diabetes, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), and HbA1c were compared between different types of mild NPDR.
결과 : 38 eyes were classified as the anterior type, 38 eyes as posterior, and 76 eyes as mixed type. Anterior type had significantly shorter duration of diabetes compared to posterior and mixed type (anterior type 11.3 years, posterior type 15.7 years, mixed type 16.1 years, p=0.015 and p=0.006, respectively). HbA1c was significantly higher in anterior type than in posterior or mixed type (7.92% in anterior type, 7.36% in posterior type, 7.3% in mixed type, p=0.03 and p=0.025, respectively). Total cholesterol level, HDL-C, LDL-C did not differ significantly among the three groups.
결론 : Different systemic factors affect the location of appearance of microaneurysm in early NPDR.
