목적 : To describe the clinical characteristics and analyze the surgical outcome of acute acquired comitant esotropia(AACE)
방법 : Restrospective observational study was conducted. Total of 54 patients who were diagnosed with AACE and received strabismus surgery between December 2010 and June 2019 at Yonsei university health System were enrolled. The amount of medial rectus muscle recession was compared in between AACE patients and the surgical outcome was analyzed with the amount of deviation and level of binocularity using alternate prism cover test. The amount of deviation was evaluated at a total of four time periods for each case: baseline visit prior to surgery, and 1 month, 3 months and 6months after the surgery.
결과 : 83.3% of AACE patients received bilateral medial rectus recession surgery and the others received unilateral medial rectus recession surgery. Orthostatic position after surgery was examined in 78.8% of patients at 1 month, 80.0% of patients at 3 months, and 92.3% of patients at 6 months after the surgery. Stereopsis was improved in 74.2% of patients who received strabismus surgery.
결론 : Good motor and sensory outcomes can be achieved in AACE patients with appropriate strabismus surgery.
