목적 : To evaluate changes in choroidal layer in the fellow eyes of patients with unilateral branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO).
방법 : Thirty-nine patients with unilateral BRVO and fifty-three patients with normal eyes were included. Subfoveal thickness of choroidal sublayers and vascular density of choriocapillaris were measured and compared between fellow eyes of RVO patients and healthy normal controls
결과 : Total subfoveal choroidal thickness in the fellow eyes of RVO patients were significantly thicker than in normal controls (263.23 vs 236.03 ㎛, P=0.031). Although it was not significant, Haller’s layer thickness and choriocapillaris and Sattler’s layer thickness in the fellow eyes of RVO patients were also thicker than in normal controls (195.37 vs 179.63 ㎛, P=0.183; 67.86 vs 56.30 ㎛, P=0.073). On the other hand, there was no difference in vascular density of choriocapillaris between the groups (67.89 vs 68.82 %, P=0.553).
결론 : Unaffected eyes of patients with unilateral BRVOs showed vascular abnormalities of choroidal layers, especially in medium and large choroidal vessel, when compared to those of healthy individuals.
