Purpose : Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness in the world. Treating glaucoma is quite a vulnerable problem because of patient compliance, adherence and also the accuracy of each bottle are very important factors of glaucoma treatment. Through technology advancement, we hope to improve the patient compliance by developing a smartphone application. The innovation of Glaucoma application install in their smart phones will help support patient to use the medication more regularly and precisely. Methods : We collect verbal information from glaucoma expertise and glaucoma patient about their difficulity in using the eye drop precisely and accurately. Majority of the problem is precise timing of the drug used and mulitple eye drop bottle leading to misunderstanding and incorrect of eye drop adminstration. Results : Our application are developed as an eye drop reminder with in-app function such as alarm clock and snoozing feature. To avoid mis-use between bottle, the alarm are equipped with picture featuring the eye drop bottle to be used at the precise timing. Other feature to aid vision such as a magnifier is also added. Patient eye drop adminstration timing are then plot into graph allowing doctor to view the patient compliance easily leading to a more adjusting and appropriate treatment for each individualize patient. Conclusion : Participant would be more compliant resulting in a more efficient eye drops treatment. Statistic information of the patient eye drop habit can help doctor discriminate the compliant and non-compliant patient more easily leading to more appropriate treatment of choice for each individual patient.
