목적 : To evaluate the usefulness of light adapted electroretinograms (ERG) using RETeval (LKC Technologies) in preterm infants without retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
방법 : Eighteen preterm infants without ROP underwent light-adapted electroretinograms (ERG) using a RETeval system without sedation. Values of amplitude and peak time of the a- and b-wave, as well as the 30-Hz flicker were obtained from the right eyes and were compared with the reference data provided by the RETeval system.
결과 : Readable results were acquired from 11 patients (61.1%), and the mean gestational age was 32.91 ± 3.17 weeks. The mean amplitude of the a-wave was -8.14 ± 6.55 uv and the mean peak time of the a-wave was 17.32 ± 7.79 ms. The average amplitude of the b-wave was 20.35 ± 13.55 uv and mean peak time of the b-wave was 36.67 ± 8.84 ms. 30-Hz flicker results were obtained with an amplitude of 5.99 ± 3.80 uv. A negative correlation was confirmed between the a-wave amplitude and age at the time of examination (p < 0.05).
결론 : The cone response was decreased in preterm infants, with a larger decrease in the b-wave amplitude than the a-wave amplitude, which corresponds to the histological maturation timeline of the retina. The RETeval system showed usefulness in evaluating retinal function in preterm infants.
