목적 : To evaluate the impact of Tafluprost 0.0015% (TA) and Latanoprost 0.005% (LA) in glaucoma patients on central corneal thickness (CCT) and intraocular pressure (IOP).
방법 : The present study comprised patients without previous glaucoma treatment who were observed for at least three years and underwent corneal thickness measurement at least once a year. Patients with a history of ocular surgery or another glaucoma medication during follow-up were excluded. A total of 55 open-angle glaucoma patients (110 eyes) was enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups; one group (60 eyes) used TA as anti-glaucoma eye drop, and the other group (50 eyes) used LA. Goldmann applanation tonometer and specular microscopy were used to measure IOP and CCT, respectively.
결과 : Statistically significant reductions in IOP and CCT were observed in both groups. The mean reduction in IOP over a three-year period was -2.08±2.40 mmHg in the TA group and -2.18±2.83 mmHg in the LA group (paired t-test, p<0.001, for both). Regarding CCT, the mean reduction over a three-year period was -30.90±32.04 μm in the TA group and -20.24±22.92 μm in the LA group (paired t-test, p<0.001, for both). The changes in CCT and IOP reductions were not significantly correlated.
결론 : TA and LA showed similar effects on lowering IOP and decreasing CCT.
