|
목적 : To investigate the changes in the thickness of each retinal layer in the patients with idiopathic epiretinal membrane (ERM) who were underwent vitrectomy and internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling
방법 : Sixty idiopathic ERM eyes treated with vitrectomy and ILM peeling were analyzed. Parafoveal retinal thickness was measured at baseline and 6 months after the surgery using automated segmentation software of the Spectralis system. The changes in the macular thickness of each retinal layer among each subfield were compared, and changes in temporal/nasal subfield thickness ratio (TNR) were analyzed.
결과 : Parafoveal retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness was significantly decreased in all subfields (p<0.001), but there was no difference among the subfields in terms of the amount of change (p=0.806). Nasal parafoveal thickening or temporal parafoveal thinning were observed in the inner retinal layers. Changes in TNR were correlated with inner foveal displacement from the outer foveal center in all layers above the external limiting membrane.
결론 : Retinal thickness of each layer demonstrated different changes which might reflect various retinal changes after ILM peeling. Removal of ILM and RNFL thinning may result in the loss of structural support from ILM and RNFL as well as in the alteration of retinal contractility. It might cause nasal parafoveal thickening and temporal parafoveal thinning, mainly in the inner retinal layers.
