목적 : To compare the agreement between parental observations and clinical evaluations in patient with exotropia
방법 : This is a prospective study including pediatric patients with exotropia. The parental observations including age of onset, direction of ocular deviation, and frequency of deviation (rare, <50% of time, >50% of time, and constant) were assessed through a questionnaire. These were compared with clinical evaluations including angle of deviation and control score using LACTOSE.
결과 : One hundred four parents of 99 patients with exotropia (female, 48) were included in the study. Mean angle of deviation was 26.8 PD (range, 16-50 PD). Mean LACOTSE score was 2.6 at distance, 1.9 at near, and 4.5 when combined. The frequency in parental observations increased with the larger angle of deviation (> 35 PD, p=0.023, linear by linear association). There was increasing frequency of deviation in parental observations with worsening control level of near and combined LACTOSE score (p=0.020 with near score and 0.019 with combined score, linear by linear association).
결론 : The parental observations correlated with angel of deviation (> 35 PD), near control level, and combined control level in patients with exotropia.
