목적 : To evaluate the efficacy of adjunctive treatments to decrease stromal herpes simplex keratitis (HSK) recurrences in patients with simultaneous stromal HSK and dry eye disease.
방법 : This was a nonrandomized, retrospective, comparative analysis. 65 patients were diagnosed with unilateral HSK and dry eye disease. Of the 65 patients, 33 were treated with 0.05% topical cyclosporine twice a day and 32 were treated with 0.1% topical cyclosporine once a day. All patients continued the use of prednisolone acetate 1% eyedrop once a day and artificial eyedrops. The frequency and duration of stromal HSK recurrences were monitored for 6 months after initiation of treatment, and the rates were compared with those in the prior 6 months of same season.
결과 : The frequency of stromal HSK recurrences in 0.05% and 0.1% topical cyclosporine group was reduced from 2.1 and 1.9 recurrences per 6 month before treatment to 1.2 and 0.8 per 6 month after treatment, respectively. The 0.05% and 0.1% topical cyclosporine group experienced stromal HSK recurrences for mean duration of 1.8 and 2.1 month/6 month before treatment, respectively, and these were reduced to 1.5 and 1.1 month/6 month, respectively.
결론 : The use of topical cyclosporine reduced recurrences of stromal HSK, and 0.1% topical cyclosporine eyedrop was more effective in controlling recurrence.
