Contents : PURPOSE: To demonstrate tips and tricks while performing complex diabetic vitrectomy
METHODS: Multiple surgical video clips demonstrating important steps and approaches during diabetic vitrectomy
RESULTS: Few salient points including identification of secondary membranes, the distinction between the membrane and avascular retina, use of scissors and forceps, advantages of chandelier illumination, various approaches to start, management of intraoperative hemorrhage, the importance of fluid-fluid exchange were demonstrated in the video.
CONCLUSIONS: Improved understanding of surgical steps during diabetic vitrectomy improves the anatomical success with satisfactory functional outcomes.
