목적 : To investigate the association between dyslipidemia, dyslipidemia treatment and open-angle glaucoma (OAG). 방법 : A population-based study including 16,939 eligible participants aged 40 or older from Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) for the years 2008 to 2012. Participants were classified into two groups based on current treatment for dyslipidemia. We evaluated the risk of OAG and associated ophthalmologic findings for the treatment with a propensity score weighted odds ratio (OR). We conducted subgroup analysis based on participants’ lipid profile and calculated adjusted odds ratio of OAG for serum lipids. 결과 : After weighting, dyslipidemia treatment was not significantly associated with OAG (OR, 1.08; 95% CI, 0.77-1.50; p = .661). Subjects with suboptimal lipid profile despite currently being treated appeared to have a higher risk of OAG than untreated subjects with suboptimal lipid profile (OR, 1.29; 95% CI, 0.87-1.92; p = .201), whereas subjects who achieved optimal lipid profile from treatment appeared to have lower risk of OAG than untreated subjects with optimal lipid profile (OR, 0.78; 95% CI, 0.42-1.45; p = .428), although not statistically significant. 결론 : Patients who failed to achieve an optimal lipid profile despite being treated might be at increased risk of OAG. Patients who achieved optimal lipid profile from treatment appeared to have a similar or slightly lower risk of OAG.
