목적 : To compare the efficiency of the new phaco sleeve with the conventional phaco sleeve
방법 : A new phaco sleeve was made from the conventional phaco sleeve with additional micro-holes. Kelman tip was used with the conventional phaco sleeve (2.75mm incision, Group 1) and with the new one (Group 2). A piece of blood agar (BA) was placed in an artificial chamber of a Kitaro wetlab system and the phacoemulsifier (Infiniti, Alcon Laboratories) was placed horizontally. Phacoemulsification was done for 10 times in each group using 100% of torsional phaco power. The time to remove BA, repulsion rate, repulsion-to-retouch time, re-aspiration angle and distance were measured by video analysis.
결과 : The mean time to remove BA of Group 2 was shorter than that of Group 1 (1.42±0.85 seconds vs. 3.70±2.89 seconds, respectively, P value = 0.009). Other outcomes were not significantly different between Group 1 and Group 2 (Repulsion rate 100% vs. 60%, respectively; Mean repulsion-to-retouch time 1.18±1.67 seconds vs. 0.68±0.79 seconds, respectively; Re-aspiration angle 24.55±18.10 deg vs. 37.09±23.88 deg, respectively; and Re-aspiration distance 2.23±1.61 mm vs. 1.67±0.75 mm, respectively).
결론 : The new phaco sleeve showed better efficiency compared to the conventional sleeve. The newly designed phaco sleeve might be a better option to enhance efficiency of phacoemulsification.
