목적 : We evaluated the effect of cycloplegia on ocular biometry and the accuracy of SRK-T, Haigis, and Holladay 2 formula in predicting intraocular lens (IOL) power in cataract patients.
방법 : This prospective observational study include 67 patients undergoing cataract surgery. We measured the ocular biometry in the eyes with and without cycloplegia using the swept source OCT biometry. The prediction error of IOL power was calculated in SRK-T, Haigis, and Holladay 2 formula at 2 months after cataract surgery. The cycloplegia-induced difference in ocular biometry measurements and the prediction error of SRK-T, Haigis, and Holladay 2 formula was evaluated.
결과 : The mean difference of anterior chamber depth (ACD) and lens thickness (LT) between before and after cycloplegia was 0.117 ± 0.110 and 0.06 ± 0.166 mm. The cycloplegia-induced difference in the prediction error of SRK-T, Haigis, and Holladay 2 formula was 0.04 ± 0.17, 0.15 ± 0.20, 0.26 ± 0.27 D. The cycloplegia-induced difference in the prediction error correlated negatively with the age (r = 0.618, P = 0.046).
결론 : The cycloplegia affects the ACD and LT values and the IOL power predicted by formulas using preoperative ACD and LT, although it is not clinically significant. Care should be taken in young patients with accommodation.
