본문 : Purpose: To report a patient with orbital liposarcoma that had metastasized from the knee. Methods: A 28-year-old man was referred with upper eyelid drooping and swelling of the left eye. Six years ago, liposarcoma in popliteal area of his left knee had been surgically removed followed by postoperative radiation. His eyeball was slightly inferolaterally deviated but visual acuity and eye movement were normal without diplopia. Orbital CT and MRI scan showed a well-enhancing ovoid-shaped mass in left superior extraconal space, combined with adjacent dural thickening and enhancement. He underwent total removal of orbital tumor and biopsy revealed orbital myxoid liposarcoma. Additionally, neurosurgery of involved dural and frontal bone lesion was performed which also showed metastatic myxoid liposarcoma. The patient received adjuvant radiation therapy, followed by systemic chemotherapy. Results: Pathology revealed a metastatic myxoid liposarcoma, poorly differentiated. Liposarcoma metastatic to the orbit was found 6 years after removal and radiation therapy of primary tumor. Conclusions: Liposarcoma metastases to the orbit are extremely rare, but ophthalmologists should suspect the possibility of metastatic liposarcoma if a patient has a history of liposarcoma.
