목적 : To evaluate the performance of multifocal IOLs (MIOLs) in situations that are close to the realistic situation rather than ideal situations when measuring optical performance of MIOLs
방법 : To test the effect of wavefront aberration, the performance of the IOLs was measured in situations where the aberration is compensated or not. Through this system, the spherical aberrations (SA) of various amplitudes were generated for reproducing the corneal state of eye. Using the generated SA, the Modulation transfer functions (MTF) of the monofocal, bifocal, and trifocal IOLs of Zeiss (CT ASPHINA 509M, AT LISA 809M, AT LISA tri 839MP) were evaluated.
결과 : With the aberration correction, the far focal MTF values were higher than the results without aberration correction. Similar result was obtained with near focus of the bifocal IOL. There were no significant differences between the corrected and uncorrected states in intermediate and near focus of the trifocal IOL. MTFs of all focuses of the monofocal and bifocal IOLs tend to decrease as the absolute value of SA increases. Near focus of trifocal IOL showed lower image quality than that of bifocal IOL in positive SA. The intermediate focus showed a small reduction of MTF with the positive SA.
결론 : These measurement data suggest that the system can simulate interactions between cornea and IOLs. The optical performance of the IOL can be assessed while simulating more complex aberrations of actual human cornea.
