목적 : To investigate the predictibility of lamina cribrosa (LC) curvature for progressive retinal nerve filer layer (RNFL) loss in glaucoma suspect.
방법 : Seventy-two eyes of 72 subjects with glaucoma suspect and followed up for at least 3 years without treatment were enrolled. All participants underwent enhanced depth imaging (EDI) disc scanning at baseline examination with serial RNFL thickness measurements by spectral domain (SD) optical coherent tomography (OCT). The LC curvature assessed by measurement of LC curvature index (LCCI), together with LC depth, was measured at 3 equidistant planes using baseline EDI SD-OCT image processed by adaptive compensation. The association between the rate of RNFL loss and the LCCI was analyzed.
결과 : The faster rate of RNFL was significantly associated with the lager LCCI (p<0.001), older age (p=0.002), and fluctuation of untreated intraocular pressure during follow-up (p=0.005).
결론 : The eyes with lager LCCI showed rapid progression. This finding suggests that LC curvature can be useful as a parameter to predict the future progression in glaucoma suspect.
