목적 : To investigate the relationship between peripapillary vascular density (pVD) assessed by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and visual field (VF) mean sensitivity (MS), and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness. 방법 : We enrolled 95 healthy and 91 glaucoma subjects in this study. Microvascular image and RNFL thickness were obtained by commercial OCTA device (AngioPlex OCT angiography; Carl Zeiss Meditec). The pVD was measured at various spatial locations by a computer program written using MATLAB software (The MathWorks, Inc., Natick, MA). VF sensitivity was recorded in the dB and 1/L scales. Structure-structure (pVD vs. RNFL) relationships at 12 clock-hour map and structure-function (pVD vs. MS) relationships at Garway-Heath map were assessed by weighted correlation coefficients. 결과 : The relationships of the pVD with the RNFL thickness (r, 0.322 to 0.853) and VF sensitivity (r, 0.384 to 0.626) were statistically significant (all p<0.05, except 3 o’clock). Inferior quadrant showed highest correlation (r = 0.853) between the pVD with the RNFL thickness, and significant difference compared to other quadrants (p<0.05). Inferotemporal and superotemporal regions showed highest correlation (r = 0.626 and 0.614, respectively) between the pVD and VF sensitivity, and significant difference compared to nasal and temporal region (p<0.05). 결론 : The pVD showed a statistically significant structure-structure and structure-function associations with RNFL thickness and VF sensitivity. Inferior region showed highest correlation in both structure-structure and structure-function relationships.
