목적 : To evaluate the incidence of pseudophakic macular edema in eyes with retinal vein occlusion history prior to cataract surgery and to identify contributory rist factors.
방법 : This is retrospective, observational case series, a total of 113 eyes with a history of RVO that underwent cataract surgery. All patients presented no incidence of macular pathology on OCT imaging for at least 6 months prior to surgery. the eyes of diabetic patients, incidence of copathologic features or intraoperative complications and patients prescribed glaucoma medication or prophylactic nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs were excluded. Clinical data of each eye were collected and analyzed.
결과 : PME was developed in 31 eyes within 3 months of cataract surgery. The mean visaul acuity score of eyes with PME(0.48 logMAR) was significantly worse at 3 months after the surgery, compared to that of eyes without PME (0.28 logMAR) (P=0.011). A history of previous macular edema treatment was significantly associated with a increased risk of PME development. The number of previous intravitreal infections as treatment for marular edema also significantly increased the risk of PME development.
결론 : PME had frezuently developed after phocoemulsification cataract surgery in patients with a history of RVO. The risk of PME further increased when the patient had undergone macular edema treatment and had a higher prevalence of intravitreal infection treatment. Close attention towards PME development and prophylactic management would be necessary for RVO pateints.
