목적 : This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of systemic chemotherapy
combined with various local therapies for choroidal metastases.
방법 : The medical records of 32 patients with choroidal metastases who underwent
systemic chemotherapy combined with local therapy, including external beam radiotherapy
(EBRT), transpupillary thermotherapy (TTT), intravitreal bevacizumab injection,
brachytherapy, gamma knife radiosurgery (GKR), or a combination thereof, were reviewed.
결과 : Choroidal metastases were treated with chemotherapy alone in 5 eyes or in
combination with additional EBRT in 13 eyes, TTT in 18 eyes, intravitreal bevacizumab
injection in 9 eyes, brachytherapy in 3 eyes, or GKR in 1 eye. Ten eyes received systemic
chemotherapy in combination with 2 or more local modalities. Whether administered alone or
in combination with various local therapies, systemic chemotherapy yielded beneficial
effects, including reduced tumor size, resorption of subretinal fluid, and preserved visual
acuity, in most treated eyes.
결론 : A combination of systemic chemotherapy and various local therapies can be
applied flexibly with respect to the modality and number of treatments in accordance with
each patient's general condition and treatment response.
