목적 : To compare and evaluate topographic indices between regular astigmatic children and keratoconus suspects (KKS≥1), aged 5-8 years old.
방법 : The electronic medical charts and topography records of 422 children with astigmatism greater than or equal to 2.0D from January 1, 2011 to May 30, 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were divided into two groups, Normal group with no KKS stage and KC group with KKS stage of at least 1.0 Index of topography (ISV, IVA, KI, CKI, Rmin, IHA, IHD, ABR,) was also compared.
결과 : Mean age of patients in Normal group and KC group were 5.92 years± 0.97 and 5.91 years ± 1.01 respectively, with no statistical difference between the two (p=0.852). Mean astigmatic values in topography were 2.70 ± 0.90 in the normal group and 3.30 ± 1.5 (p<0.001). Mean astigmatic values by manifest refraction were 3.0 ± 0.9 in the normal group and 3.3 ± 1.2 in the KC group (p<0.001). The mean values for ISV, IVA, KI, CKI, IHA, IHD and ABR were significantly higher in KKS group compared to the normal group (p<0.001).
결론 : Keratoconus suspects have significantly higher and thus, worse index of topography scores, compared to the normal group in children aged 5-8 years old. The children with high astigmatism should be considered as keratoconus suspects.
