본문 : Purpose
To report of a case of bilateral OZURDEX® (dexamethasone intravitreal implant) injections in a patient with bilateral ocular Behcet attack.
Case Report
A 27-year-old woman came to clinic with sudden deceased vision of left eye. She has been suffered from recurrent ocular Bechet attack twice on right eye over 3 years. She has received intravitreal bevacizumab injection for the 1st attack 2 years ago and received Intravitreal OZURDEX® injection for the 2nd attack 8 months after the initial attack. Her right eye presented stable clinical course over 14 months after the 2 second injection.
The visual acuity of her left eye was 20/40, marked macular edema with retinal hemorrhage was observed on fundus examination. Intravitreal OZURDEX® was performed on her left eye. Visual acuity and macular structure was normalized within 2 months, remained stable for over 1 year of clinical follow up. At final clinical visit, visual acuity was 20/20 bilaterally without any evidence of recurrent ocular Behcet attack.
Conclusions
The prompt and timely intervention with OZURDEX® (dexamethasone intravitreal implant) injection can be an useful rescue treatment with the reliable long term efficacy in a patient with recurrent ocular Behcet attack on both eyes.
