목적 : To report the efficacy of selective retina therapy (SRT) in the treatment of diabetic macular edema is influenced by pre-treatment central macular thickness
방법 : This is retrospective case series study.A total of 36 eyes in 34 patients with clinically significant DME were included and were divided into two groups based on CMT at baseline.Group 1 had CMT≤380㎛, group 2 had CMT>380㎛.All patients were treated with SRT and followed by 6 months. ETDRS BCVA, CMT, and maximum macular thickness(MMT) were measured before or 3, 6 months after SRT treatment. Retreatment was performed at month 3 if no improvement of CMT was observed.Rescue treatment with intravitreal anti-VEGF injections was performed if MMT was increased over 500㎛.
결과 : Group 1 (n=22) showed an average of 34㎛ reduction in MMT and 2.5 ETDRS letters gain at 6 months. No patient required rescue anti-VEGF injections in Group 1. Whereas Group 2 (n=14) showed no significant improvement in MMT and BCVA. Three patients in Group 2 received rescue bevacizumab treatment. No adverse effects from SRT laser were reported.
결론 : MMT was significantly reduced and BCVA was improved after SRT monotherapy in group 1. These findings suggest that SRT treatment was safe and effective in treating macular edema of mild to moderate severity.
