목적 : To evaluate the functional consequences of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling in epiretinal membrane(ERM) surgery.
방법 : Retrospective single-center study including consecutive patients operated on for idiopathic ERM. The integrity of the ILM was assessed after removal of the ERM. All patients were analyzed using visual acuity, HD-OCT (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Dublin, CA) and MAIA microperimeter (CenterVue, Padova, Italy).
결과 : Twelve eyes of 12 patients were included. After 6months later, visual acuity increased significantly after surgery (p<0.05). However, microperimetry revealed focal microscotomas at 6 months for active peeling (P<0.05). Their location corresponded more often to the site where the ERM or ILM was grasped along with inner retinal defects, based on surgical videos.
결론 : ILM peeling is frequently performed to reduce ERM recurrence. Despite there had no impact on the visual acuity resultsal acuity, active ILM peeling occurs the incidence of microscotomas related to microscopic trauma at the site where the ERM or ILM is grasped.
