목적 : To study whether timing of internal limiting membrane(ILM) peeling affects clinical outcomes of vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade in eyes with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR)
방법 : Forty-two eyes of thirty-six patients underwent vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade and stepwise silicone oil removal for PDR and tractional retinal detachment. In group 1 (26 eyes of 24 patients), ILM peeling was performed just before silicone oil injection. While in group 2 (16 eyes of 12 patients), ILM peeling was performed after silicone oil removal. Visual acuity (LogMAR) and macular configuration between the two groups were compared.
결과 : The subjects followed up for 14.06 ± 8.01 months on average after the silicone oil removal. At the final visit, no significant difference was found between the corrected visual acuity (-0.63±0.73 vs -0.69±0.90, p=0.851), central foveal thickness (302.36±47.37 μm vs 302.00±50.18 μm, p=0.986) and total macular volume (8.69±0.71 mm3 vs 8.66±0.89 mm3, p=0.913) of the two groups. In detailed analyses of macular configuration, retinal nerve fiber layer or photoreceptor layer presented no significant differences in terms of their thickness and volume.
결론 : The timing of ILM peeling in vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade does not affect the visual recovery or macular configuration of eyes with PDR.
