목적 : To evaluate the long-term results of the Artisan phakic intraocular lens(PIOL) for the correction of myopia in Korean patients.
방법 : Comparisons were made between preoperative and postoperative clinical data at 1, 5, 8, 10 years. Prospective analyses of 125 eyes from 68 patients who underwent Artisan PIOL implantation for the correction myopia were made. The mean preoperative spherical equivalent(SE) was -9.13±3.3 D(range -2.63 to -19.75D). The Artisan myopia 6 mm optic lens was used in 119 eyes and 5 mm optic lens was used in 6 eyes. Uncorrected and corrected distance visual acuities, refractive stability, safety, efficacy, predictability, intraocular pressure and corneal endothelial cell density were evaluated.
결과 : The mean SE after 10 years was -1.17±0.86 D, with no significant change between 1, 5, 8, and 10 years. At 10 years, 53.9% and 85.5% of all eyes were within 1.0 D and 2.0 D of the attempted correction, respectively. And 14.5%(n=11) gained 1 or more Snellen lines of best corrected visual acuity(BCVA) and 2.6%(n=2) lost more than 2 Snellen line of BCVA; 100% and 86.8% of all eyes reached a BCVA and a uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA) of 20/40 or better, respectively. The mean intraocular pressure was 15.8±2.8 mmHg at 10 years. The mean endothelial cell density decreased by 6.8% at 10 years postop
결론 : Long-term results show that the implantation of an Artisan PIOL for the correction myopia in Korean patients with pigmented iris was a stable, predictable and effective method. The endothelial cell loss was not significant considering natural endothelial cell loss 0.6% per year.
