목적 : We evaluated the prevalence of brow elevation in ptosis patient before and after the correction of ptosis, and we analyzed the aspect of brow position change after ptosis correction surgery. 방법 : 98 patients (196 eyes) who underwent ptosis surgery at Kim’s Eye Hospital from January 2011 to December 2012 were evaluated retrospectively. According to analysis of preoperative photograph, patients are divided into two groups; symmetric bilateral ptosis (group 1) and asymmetric bilateral ptosis (group2). To analyze the brow position, we used preoperative photograph and postoperative photograph at last follow-up visit in each group. Aspect of brow position change is analyzed by comparing preoperative photograph and postoperative photograph at last follow-up visit in each group. 결과 : Symmetric bilateral ptosis is shown in 51 patients and asymmetric bilateral ptosis is shown in 47 patients. Brow elevation is preoperatively shown in 37 patients (72.5%) in the group 1 and 38 patients (80.8%) in the group 2. After the ptosis correction, among the patient who preoperatively showed brow elevation, 8 patients (21.6%) in the group 1 and 13 patients (34.2%) in the group 2 still showed brow elevation. 결론 : This study demonstrated that all ptosis patients did not show brow elevation preoperatively, and some ptosis patients who showed preoperative brow elevation did not alleviate the brow elevation after the ptosis correction surgery. To design the double fold height, in patients who showed brow elevation preoperatively, surgeons design the double fold height lower than that of patients who showed normal brow position to consider these things.
