| 거대세포각막내피염의 임상적 특징과 치료 결과에 따른 고찰 |

목적 : To elucidate the clinical manifestations of cytomegalovirus (CMV) endotheliitis, and evaluate the outcomes of systemic valganciclovir treatment for CMV endotheliitis.
방법 : We reviewed the medical records of 5 patients (6 eyes) who were diagnosed with CMV endotheliitis by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of aqueous humour and treated with systemic valganciclovir.
결과 : Six eyes of 5 patients were followed for a mean of 11.0 months. One patients had bilateral corneal endotheliitis.All eyes had coin-shaped keratoprecipitates and mild anterior chamber inflammation.All eyes had absence of anterior segment inflammation after 3 weeks after treatment.Following treatment, the mean visual acuity improved significantly from 0.28 at baseline to 0.62 at the last visit.The mean IOP decreased significantly from 29.3㎜Hg at baseline to 14.5㎜Hg at the last visit.One eye had recurrence of corneal endotheliitis after withdrawal of valganciclovir, and underwent keratoplasty.
결론 : Oral valganciclovir might be effective in treating CMV endotheliitis, resulting in visual acuity improvement and IOP decrease by control of inflammation. However, recurrence could occur after withdrawal of oral valganciclovir and at least 6 weeks of oral valgaciclovir treatment would be recommended.
