목적 : To compare the clinical courses of recurrent intermittent exotropia after second surgery in patients who had fast exodrift (>10 prism diopters before 6 postoperative months) or slow exodrift after primary surgery.
방법 : We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with recurrent intermittent exotropia who underwent contralateral lateral rectus recession and medial rectus resection as second surgery, and who were followed up 24 postoperative months between January 1991 and January 2011 at Yeungnam University Medical Center. The clinical courses after second surgery and factors associated with fast exodrift were analyzed.
결과 : Seventy-seven patients were enrolled. Of these, 50 exhibited fast exodrift after primary surgery. Although exodrift was still observed after second surgery, no significant difference in the clinical courses after second surgery was evident in patients with recurrent intermittent exotropia exhibiting fast and slow exodrift (p=0.278; repeated-measures ANOVA). In multivariate logistic analysis, immediate postoperative deviation after primary surgery had the strongest association with fast exodrift.
결론 : After second surgery, the clinical course of patients with recurrent intermittent exotropia who had fast exodrift after primary surgery did not differ significantly from those with slow exodrift.
