목적 : To compare the effects of partial or full hyperopic optical correction on hyperopia reduction in children with hyperopia
방법 : 72 children wearing glasses with hyperopia >+1.5 D who visited university hospital’s ophthalmology clinic from 2013 to 2014 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Subjects were divided into either partial correction (group 1 – undercorrection 0.75D-1D) or full correction (group 2 - cycloplegic refraction) group. Routine follow-up examinations were performed for at least 6 months. The main outcome measure was the rate of hyperopic reduction at the end of the last follow up between two groups with different spectacle correction.
결과 : There was no statistically difference on observation period, age at the first visit, initial spherical equivalent refractive error and gender in both groups. The annual hyperopia reduction rates were statistically significant higher in partial correction group (0.53±0.43 (diopter/year), 0.24±0.49 (diopter/year, p =0.009). The hyperopia reduction rate was higher in partial correction group if the patient does not have anisometropia, astigmatism, and hyperopia >+ 4 D.
결론 : The hyperopia reduction rates were higher in partial spectacle correction group. The prescribing hyperopic glasses partially would be more beneficial, especially when the patient does not have anisometropia, astigmatigm, and hyperopia more than 4 diopter.
