목적 : To compare the lamina cribrosa (LC) curvature before and after trabeculectomy.
방법 : Optic nerves were scanned using enhanced depth imaging spectral domain optical coherence tomography before and after trabeculectomy in 39 patients with primary open angle glaucoma. The LC curvature was measured in 7 horizontal B-scan images in each eye.
결과 : The LC curvature at postoperative 6 months was significantly smaller compared to the preoperative level at all 7 planes (all P<0.001). Preoperative LC curvature was associated with younger age (all P≤0.005) and higher preoperative intraocular pressure(IOP, all P≤0.053). Magnitude of IOP lowering, younger age and larger preoperative LC curvature were associated with greater reduction of LC curvature (all P<0.05).
결론 : LC curvature was reduced after trabeculectomy indicating that LC is an elastic structure. This finding suggests that LC curvature can be potentially useful as a parameter to assess the strain induced by the translaminar pressure difference.
