목적 : Purpose: Floaters result from localized vitreous opacities that are products of either vitreous degeneration or posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). Usually, observation was the only solution, however some patients are suffered from floaters. This study reports the clinical results of YAG laser vitreolysis for the treatment of floaters. Methods: This study is prospective observational case series. The patients with floaters were involved who visited the retina center of Pureun eye hospital between March 2015 and July 2015. The patients were selected who met the following criteria; 방법 : the floaters caused by localized vitreous opacities or PVD; patients suffered from floaters during day life and strong desire for cure. The patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, severe media opacity and young age were excluded. Patients had pre and postoperative examinations including visual acuity, tonometry, wide fundus photography, slit lamp and fundus examination. Patients were examined 1, 4, 8 and 12 weeks after treatment. The floater scores were measured using survey paper for the evaluation of subjective symptom change. 결과 : The wide fundus photography was used for the evaluation of objective changes. Results: The 107 eyes were involved; 61 cases were male and 46 cases were female. The mean age was 59.3 ± 14.3 years old. Informed consent was obtained in all cases. The floater scores were significantly improved after treatment (preoperative score: 73.6 ± 10.5, postoperative score: 8.2 ± 4.6, P< 0.001). The visible floaters disappeared in 102/107 cases (95.3%) in wide fundus photography. There were no significant changes in visual acuity and intraocular pressure. 결론 : The small subretinal hemorrhage was developed in 2/107 cases (1.8%) and absorbed spontaneously. Other side effects such as new floaters, retinal tear, retinal detachment and cataract were not developed during follow up period. Conclusion: The clinical outcome of YAG laser vitreolysis using Ultra Q Reflex showed favorable results in subjective and objective measurement. There were no significant complications after procedure. We think YAG laser vitreolysis could be the excellent treatment option for the patients suffer from floaters.
