목적 : To present whether timing of ILM peeling affects clinical outcomes of vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade in eyes with proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
방법 : 27 eyes of 23 patients underwent vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade and stepwise silicone oil removal for proliferative diabetic retinopathy and tractional retinal detachment. The subjects were divided into 2 groups according to the timing of internal limiting membrane peeling. In group 1 (14 eyes of 12 patients), ILM peeling was performed just before silicone oil injection. While in group 2 (13 eyes of 13 patients), ILM peeling was performed after silicone oil removal. Clinical outcomes including visual recovery and macular configuration between 2 groups were compared.
결과 : The subjects were followed up for 7.31 ± 4.99 months in average after the silicone oil removal. The visual recovery (LogMAR) were -0.78 ± 0.99 in group 1 and -0.78 ± 0.82 in group 2 and presented no statistical significance. (P=0.999) The central foveal thickness at the final visit were 314.43 ± 78.94 um in group 1 and 310.54 ± 66.09 um in group 2 (P=0.889). The thickness of retinal nerve fiber layer at final visit were 27.57 ± 22.28 um in group 1 and 20.08 ± 8.31 in group 2 (P= 0.257). The thickness of photoreceptor layer were 81.07 ± 5.39 um and 83.85 ± 5.34 um (p=0.191).
결론 : The timing of ILM peeling whether before of after the silicone oil tamponade does not affect to the visual recovery or macular configuration in eyes with proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
