목적 : To investigate the effect of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) on the measured retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) in patients with acute onset (<3 months)
방법 : We compared the SD-OCT RNFL thickness profiles between eyes with CSC and contrlateral eyes without acute CSC for evaluating the effect of CSC on RNFL thickness. We included 51 eyes of 51 patients with acute onset (<3 months) CSC combined definite subretinal fluid(SRF). The 6-sectorial and global RNFL (gRNFL) thickness were compared between two eyes intraindividually.
결과 : The PMB thickness in the eyes with CSC (66.05 ± 23.67 um) were greater compared with the contralateral eyes (56.09 ± 12.85 um) significantly (p = 0.035). Other sectors of peripapillary RNFL showed no statistically significant difference between eyes with CSC and the contralateral eyes. The volume of the SRF in eyes with CSC significantly correlated with the PMB thickness (p = 0.010, r = 0.455).
결론 : The RNFL thickness was generally overestimated in patients with acute CSC and the increment correlated with the degree of macular thickness or volume. Cautious interpretation is recommended when evaluating peripapillary RNFL profiles using SD-OCT in patients with acute CSC.
