목적 : To investigate long-term strabismus surgical outcomes and visual prognosis in preadolescent ocular myasthenia gravis (OMG). 방법 : The medical records of all patients with preadolescent onset OMG who underwent strabismus surgery were reviewed. Nine patients met the study inclusion criteria. The main outcomes, including ocular alignment, number of surgery, and visual acuity at final visit were evaluated. A successful outcome was defined as less or equal to 10 prism diopters (PD) at final recorded visit. 결과 : Among these patients, diplopia symptom was presented in 7 patients (77.8%). Mean age at surgery was 20.4 ± 10.7 years and the time from disease onset to first operation was 14.4 ± 9.0 years. The mean preoperative horizontal and vertical deviations were 41.1 ± 10.5 PD and 7.1 ± 8.1 PD, respectively. The average length of postoperative follow-up was 4.3 ± 5.7 years (range, 0.3 to 20.1 years). No patients underwent >2 surgeries. Successful results with first strabismus surgery were archived in 5 patients (55.6%). Amblyopia was found in 5 of the 9 patients at an initial visit. 결론 : In our series, seven patients could obtain successful results in long-term follow up. It is concluded that strabismus surgery may be considered in patients with preadolescent onset OMG who had constant angle of deviation despite of medical treatment.
