본문 : Purpose: We report a case of CMV endotheliitis treated intravitreal ganciclovir injection.
Case report: A 45 years old male patient visited our clinic due to right eye discomfort. On the slit lamp, corneal edema and keratic precipitates was observed with mild chamber reaction. He was suspected as herpes keratouveitis, so oral steroid and acyclovir was treated. After 4 weeks of treatment, the lesion did not improve, and corneal edema was aggravated. So, anterior chamber paracentesis was done, and then polymerase chain reaction was conducted. The patient was positive for the CMV, so he was diagnosed as CMV endotheliitis. Oral steroid with intravitreal gancyclovir injection was done. Corneal edema was decreased and KPs disappeared after teatment.
Discussion: Intravitreal ganciclovir injection can be considered as an effective regimen for CMV endotheliitis.
