본문 : Purpose : To report 3 cases of chemical corneal burn Methods : A 34 years old male visited our clinic due to left ocular pain after chemical injury of Ethylenediamine for 1 day ago. His best-corrected visual acuity was 0.4-1 in the left eye, and slit-lamp examination showed total corneal epithelial defect and limbal ischemia and severe corneal edema. A 75 years old female visited our clinic due to left visual loss, foreign body sensation after chemical injury of GLUMA Desensitizer for 2 days ago. His best-corrected visual acuity was Hand Motion (H.M) in the left eye, and slit-lamp examination showed total corneal epithelial defect, limbal ischemia and severe corneal edema with D’s fold. A 64 years old male visited our clinic due to visual loss on both eye after chemical injury of Hydrofluoric acid for 2 days ago. His visual acuity was 0.1 in the right eye, 0.06 in the left eye. In slit-lamp examination showed total corneal epithelial defect, limbal ischemia and corneal edema with D’s fold. Results : A 34 years old male underwent successful amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT) and limbal autograft on left eye with an excellent return of vision. His best-corrected visual acuity was 0.8 in the left eye at 2 month after operation. A 75 years old female underwent successful AMT with ant. chamber (A/C) paracentesis (0.05cc) and limbal autograft on left eye with an excellent return of vision. Her best-corrected visual acuity was 0.4-1 in the left eye at 3 month after operation. A 64 years old male underwent successful AMT and A/C paracentesis (0.1cc) on right eye with necrotic tissue debridement on left eye. One month later, limbal autograft was performed on his right eye. His best-corrected visual acuity was 0.06 in right eye and 0.2 in left eye at 1 week after limbal autograft. Conclusion : AMT and limbal autograft are effective methods for ocular surface reconstruction in ocular surface disease caused by chemical corneal burn result in total limbal stem cell deficiency. Because they can improve subjective symptoms and the healing of epithelial lesions.
