본문 : Purpose
To describe the clinical features of patient diagnosed with ocular toxocariasis after surgery for retinal detachment with hypermature cataract
Case report
White cataract and suspected retinal detachment with B-scan was treated surgically. During the operation, granulomatous lesion with fibrotic band suggesting ocular toxocariasis was observed. Intraoperative vitreous sampling and serology for ELISA were performed and confirmed ocular toxocariasis.
Conclusions
This is the first report suggesting that ocular toxocariasis might be a cause of retinal detachment combined with hypermature cataract.
