본문 : Ocular myositis is a benign idiopathic inflammatory disease that may affect any part in the orbit and considered as a subgroup within the entity of idiopathic orbital inflammatory syndrome (IOIS), which is formerly called orbital pseudotumor. In our case, atypical orbital myositis complicated with compressed optic neuropathy developed a young male who has severly decreased vison, color perception and visual field. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed inflammations of muscles and optic nerve compression. After mega dose of intravenous methylprednisolone pulsed therapy, the patient recovered dramatically. It is very rare that superior oblique myositis and optic neuropathy which almost has little classical symptoms or signs of myositis. So we must pay proper attention to knowledge of atypical myositis to minimize a misdiagnosis. |
