| Clinical Comparison of Scleral Fixation using Hydrophobic Foldable Intraocular Lens with Ring-shape Connecting Bridges and Polymethylmethacrylate Intraocular Lens. |

| 본문 : Purpose: Modern scleral fixation technique needs good intraocular lens (IOL) shape and material. This study is to compare the clinical outcome of scleral fixation using using Hydrophobic Foldable IOL with Ring-shape Connecting Bridges (RCB) and Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) IOL.
Methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional study including 26 eyes of 26 patients who underwent scleral fixation (2mm far from the limbus) of IOL was conducted. 14 eyes had received RCB IOL (RCB group) and 12 eyes had received PMMA IOL (PMMA group). Mann-Whitney U test was performed to compare the parameters of 2 groups.
Results: The corrected distance visual acuity at postoperative day 30 was not different between 2 groups. However postoperative spherical equivalent difference from goal diopter was slightly higher in RCB group than PMMA group which implies myopic shift in terms of fixation point.
Conclusions: Scleral fixation using using Hydrophobic Foldable Intraocular Lens (IOL) with RCB is competent with PMMA IOL.
