목적 : To evaluate surgical outcome for patients in cerebral palsy (CP) with exotropia compare to the normal controls.
방법 : Surgical records of thirty exotropia patients with CP and sixty age-matched normal patients who underwent bilateral lateral rectus recession from December, 2005 to October, 2011 were reviewed retrospectively. Successful surgical outcome was defined if the deviation was less than 10 prism diopters (PD).
결과 : Mean preoperative deviation was 30.97±10.54 PD in CP group and 29.75±7.52 PD in control group (p=0.530) which was reduced to 4.44±7.13 PD and 7.43±7.59 PD respectively(P=0.093). With linear mixed model analysis, estimated mean postoperative deviations of both groups were in success range at all periods. At the final visit successful surgical outcomes were achieved in 88.5% in CP group and 77.1% in normal group (P=0.087). The differences of cumulative probabilities of surgical success were not statistically significant between two groups. (P=0.216, log rank test)
결론 : The CP patients with exotropia after BLR recession showed successful ocular alignment comparable to the normal controls.
