목적 : To evaluate the clinical features and treatment outcomes in patients with orbital lymphoma excluding conjunctival lymphoma in South Korea.
방법 : Forty four cases of orbital lymphoma that were evaluated and treated at Asan Medical Center, Seoul, Korea from March 2010 to June 2013 were retrospectively reviewed. Information regarding age, sex, initial symptoms and signs when visiting the hospital, mass location and features, histology and treatment outcomes were evaluated.
결과 : The mean age of the patients at the diagnosis was 56.3 ± 13.5 years. The histopathologic subtypes were mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma in 33 patients (75.0%), diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in 5 (11.4%), NK-T cell lymphoma in 3 (7%), and Mantle cell lymphoma in 2 (5%). There were 22 (52%) stage 1 patients, 3 (7%) stage 2, and 17 (40.4%) stage 4. Thirty (91%) of MALT lymphoma patients showed complete remission after treatment and 2 (7%) recurred during the follow up. However, patients with other type of lymphomas presented complete remission in 6 of 11 (55%).
결론 : In this report, MALT lymphoma was the most common orbital lymphoma in South Korea like other previous reports evaluating ocular adnexa lymphomas including conjunctival lymphoma, however, staging tended to be more advanced. MALT lymphomas were likely to respond to initial treatment with favorable outcomes.
