Diagnostic abilities of central 10-2 and central 24-2 standard automated perimetry for detecting early glaucoma

목적 : To compare the ability of central 10-2 (C10-2) and central 24-2 (C24-2) standard automated perimetry (SAP) to detect early glaucoma damage in the macula 방법 : Patients with glaucomatous optic nerve and macular damage and normal controls were enrolled prospectively. Each group underwent C10-2 and C24-2 SAP. Correlations of mean deviation (MD) and pattern standard deviation (PSD) between C10-2 and C24-2 of each group were evaluated. The mean number of visual field defects (VFD) at P<0.05 and P<0.01 on total deviation (TD) and pattern deviation (PD) plots corresponding to macular damage location (ex. inferior macular damage->superior central 10 degree VF, superior macular damage->inferior central 10 degree VF) were compared in each group. 결과 : Glaucoma and control groups were 86 and 44 eyes, respectively. Correlation coefficients of MD and PSD between C10-2 and C24-2 were 0.768 (P<0.001) and 0.817 (P<0.001) in glaucoma group, respectively, and 0.648 (P<0.001) and 0.544 (P<0.001) in control group, respectively. In glaucoma group, on TD and PD maps, C10-2 data had significantly more abnormal points (P<0.05, P<0.01) than that of C24-2 in both superior hemifield VFD (n=76) and inferior hemifield (n=62). 결론 : C10-2 showed superior sensitivity compared with C24-2 in terms of detecting point-wise abnormal VFD points at central 10 degree visual field in early glaucoma.
