|
목적 : To report cases of intractable ocular surface diseases managed with newly developed scleral contact lens.
방법 : Newly developed scleral contact lens were designed to be optimized for fitting in Asian eyes. This study included those patients with recurrent cornea epithelial defect, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Graft-Versus-Host Disease, whose symptoms could not be controlled by conventional treatments. UCVA, BCVA, OSDI, ECC, and the status of ocular surface were evaluated before and after scleral contact lens fitting.
결과 : Scleral contact lens was prescribed to 21 eyes of 13 patients. OSDI and visual acuity were significantly improved after scleral contact lens fitting during follow up periods of 12weeks. None of them was affected any contact lens related complication.
결론 : Scleral contact lens with optimized design for Asian eye can be useful treatment option for severe ocular surface diseases.
