목적 : The purpose of the study was to report a patient with with diabetic retinopathy underwent uneventful phacoemulsification cataract surgery and hydrophilic acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) (MI60) implantation in his left eye, which had an Ahmed valve implant.
방법 : Case report.
결과 : Three days postoperatively, marked opacification on the IOL surface with corneal edema was observed in the left eye. The IOL was replaced with a silicone IOL (Li61U). After exchanging the IOL, the inflammation subsided. The prelenticular membrane and explanted IOL were sent for histopathological analysis. Transmission electron microscopy confirmed the presence of multiple foreign body giant cells with massive collagen fiber formation. Energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy revealed no calcium deposit on the IOL surface.
결론 : The interaction between the IOL material and a pre-existing silicone tube needs to be considered in the selection of IOL in eyes with Ahmed valve implant.
