목적 : To evaluate the efficacy of topical anesthesia group combined with subconjunctival anesthesia alternative to topical anesthesia group in clear corneal cataract surgery
방법 : We analyzed both groups perceiving pain at each step (anesthesia injection, wound incision, phacoemulsification, irrigation and aspiration, intraocular lens implantation, post-surgery 6 hours , post-surgery 24 hours) of cataract surgery using visual analogue scale (0-10), prospectively
결과 : There was no difference of age, sex, running time between the two groups. Pain scores at phacoemulsification, irrigation and aspiration, intraocular lens implantation in topical anesthesia were stastically significantly higher than those in topical anesthesia combined with subconjunctival anesthesia. There was no difference of pain scores at post-surgery 6 hours and 24 hours.
결론 : Topical anesthesai is a safe and effective method but in terms of pain topical anesthesia combined with subconjunctival anesthesia might be an adequate anesthetic method for cataract surgery
