목적 : To report a case of macular hole that develops in vitrectomized eye without internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling
방법 : A 79- year- old female presented with decreased visual acuity of the right eye for 4 days. Her past medical history was unremarkable except that the fellow eye was artificial with unknown cause for decades. Her initial best-corrected visual acuity was finger count 20cm and vitreous hemorrhage was diagnosed. Pars plana vitrectomy was performed without ILM peeling and no air or gas tamponade was performed .
결과 : Secondary macular hole was detected 1 week after the vitrectomy and her best-corrected visual acuity was 20/100. Three weeks later, ILM peeling and perfluoropropane (C3F8) gas tamponade were performed. Closure of the macular hole was observed 2 weeks after the surgery. Final best-corrected visual acuity was 20/40 by last follow up.
결론 : The development of secondary macular hole after vitrectomy is rare. Several pathogenic mechanisms may be involved in this case other than the idiopathic macular hole.
